January DARPA test update
The DARPA-sponsored test, focusing on Innodyn’s unique and patented fuel control system for turbine engines, is underway after a successful test start at Innodyn facilities in Pennsylvania. The test turbine article has now been moved to the US Navy Propulsion Systems Evaluation Facility, Patuxent River, Maryland where the test turbine will be instrumented and prepared for fuel and power tests on 19 and 20 January.
We expect preliminary test results to be available by Friday 21 January and we will be posting information from these tests as soon as possible thereafter. More complete detail will follow as soon as possible.
It should be noted that the objective of this preliminary test is not testing the complete Innodyn turbine engine, rather the unique fuel control system which is a critical part of the Innodyn product. DARPA has specific interest in the capabilities of the Innodyn fuel control system and has crafted this test to carefully evaluate the potential of the fuel control and management system. Plans for detailed tests of the complete Innodyn turbine engine are being set in the near future.
In the meantime, this DARPA sponsored test will give us the independent results that can be directly compared with internal data Innodyn has collected in our extensive testing program. This comparison will allow us to post SFC and power estimates of our turbine engines that will have independent credibility to substantiate our estimates.
