DARPA preliminary test set to begin
Unexpected delays have now been resolved and the DARPA-sponsored test program of the patented Innodyn fuel control system is expected to commence in early December. Additionally, due to the unique nature of the Innodyn system and desires of the DARPA sponsors to focus on comparative data, the initial phase of this test will not utilize an Innodyn turbine but will test a similar turbine in its conventional configuration and then in the Innodyn-modified configuration. Upon completion of the initial phase of this program, the test article will then be fitted with Innodyn’s injection and computer control system. The primary test parameter will be specific fuel consumption to verify the improvements of Innodyn’s system.
We expect the initial, or conventional, test phase to commence in early December and the modification and Innodyn system test to be conducted in late December or early January ‘05. Again, while this test activity is not being performed on an Innodyn turbine, we expect this independent test to translate to a reasonable estimate of specific fuel consumption for our turbine. Test updates, results and follow-on plans will be posted as soon as available.
